The Warrandyte Vet Clinic team is here to help your pet stay healthy as they age

Growing older is a natural part of life, but many age-related conditions can be managed more effectively when detected early. Our Healthy Ageing Assessment combines a detailed veterinary examination with preventative health screening to help identify potential concerns before they impact your pet’s quality of life.

Ageing is a natural part of life, but it doesn’t mean health problems should go unnoticed. Pets often adapt to discomfort, making early signs difficult to recognise. What appears to be “slowing down” may be linked to conditions such as:

  • Arthritis and mobility changes
  • Kidney or liver disease
  • Endocrine (hormonal) conditions
  • Dental disease
  • Cognitive decline

By identifying concerns sooner, we can often improve comfort, quality of life, and long-term outcomes.

Our Healthy Ageing Assessment combines a thorough veterinary examination with advanced diagnostic testing to help support your pet’s health and wellbeing.

  • Nose-to-tail physical examination
  • Weight, body condition and muscle mass evaluation
  • Mobility and musculoskeletal assessment
  • Review of behaviour, appetite and daily habits
  • Tailored recommendations for ongoing care

This package also includes:

  • Comprehensive blood testing
  • Urine analysis
  • Blood pressure measurement

This preventative approach allows us to identify potential concerns sooner and create a personalised plan for your pet.

If any findings arise from your pet’s assessment that require further investigation, we’ll explain them clearly and discuss the options available to you. Any additional diagnostics or treatments will be recommended based on your pet’s individual needs and quoted separately before any decisions are made.

As a guide:

  • Dogs: From 7 years of age (5 years for giant breeds over 40kg)
  • Cats: From 8 years of age

The Healthy Ageing Assessment bundle is available once every 12 months for eligible pets.

Ageing is a natural part of life, and every pet experiences it differently. Our team at Warrandyte Vet Clinic is here to support you with personalised recommendations, clear communication, and compassionate care every step of the way.

Whether your pet is entering their senior years or you’ve noticed subtle changes at home, our team is here to provide the support and guidance they need.
